St John’s Poetry Group
We are a small group of practising poets which meets once every two months at St John’s Library, Worcester, to read and workshop each other’s poems. We meet on Saturdays between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Because some members have to travel quite a way, we tend not to set dates in advance but discuss them at the meeting, confirming and keeping in touch by email or phone.
There is no set theme for a meeting. Our usual format is to bring along unnamed copies of a poem/s for ‘read around’ and discussion. After each round, the writer ‘fesses up’ which allows for any explanation or questions. We usually get through two rounds, with a break for tea or coffee in between.
